Hainan is the smallest and southernmost province of the People’s Republic of China
(PRC) áand was originally inhabited by Li people. Approximately 100,000 Han Chinese
arrived in Hainan during the Song dynasty and settled in the north of Hainan. From
17th to 19th centuries, more Han people migrated from Fujian and Guangdong to Hainan
and Han nationality has been the largest ethnic group in this province. It has a population
of about 7.2 million accounting for 83.33% of the province’s total population [
[1]
]. Researchers have published the forensic genetic data of different ethnic groups
and of the same eáthnic groups in different geographic regions in China; however,
to our knowledge, data on the Hainan Han population has not been reported yet.To read this article in full you will need to make a payment
